Edgesoft values the client relationship. Here are some of our case studies:
City of Beverly Hills:
- Automating the building permit process allows for online evaluation and tracking of information, as well as mobile data input for Building Inspectors in the field. Proposed future phases of the Online Business Center involve integration with other enterprise systems in order to improve information efficiency, accuracy, and customer service. The result will be a customer-focused system that utilizes integrated processes to overcome obsolete departmental models of government.
- Dynamic web content management for the City of Beverly Hills using Websphere Portal and Aptrix Content Management.
City of Burbank:
- The City sought an Enterprise Permitting and Licensing System (ePALS) to replace a standalone building permit system and other custom mainframe applications. With direct access to each others' information, City users across departments can spend less time retrieving data, gaining time with which to serve the public faster and more proactively. Building inspectors have the option of clearing out their desk drawers and going paperless, with field notes entered electronically and redundancies eliminated. As for cashiering functions, the integration of ePALS with Oracle and the ability to run reports from ePALS rather than Excel has saved two and a half days of manpower per week.
- The ePALS implementation was completed on time and on budget. Proposed future phases include online permitting, real-time updates from field inspectors, integration with an IVR/IWR system, and further advancements with the City's wireless infrastructure.
"The system has been adaptable enough to handle all the nuances of the permitting and inspection processes. It has also provided us with the opportunity to expand our use of the system without extensive upgrades. Using the administrative features, we have been able to add and modify lists and fees very quickly and easily in-house." - Tom Sloan, Deputy Building Official
