PROFILE   Burbank is a city in the southeastern end of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County, California. Located 12 miles northwest of Downtown Los Angeles, Burbank is well known for being home to Walt Disney Studios and Warner Bros. Studios, as well as having the largest IKEA in the United States.

Challenge

Burbank needed a system that could easily be reconfigured internally so that as government regulations changed, the IT team could quickly adapt to new processes. Preemptively building a scalable product, Burbank was able to change their system and enhance the customer experience.

Solution

Edgesoft provided a location centric software with best-in-class search and business tools to optimize process and internal resources. Burbank’s Edgesoft ePALS™ (enterprise Permitting and Licensing System) software includes seven departments, which includes Building Permits, Planning, Code Enforcement, Public Request for Service, Public Works, Business License/Tax, Parking Permits, Housing rehabilitation loans, public portal for permits, license and code enforcement including online payment and mobile inspections for building and code enforcement.

Results

Over the past 15 years with thousands of inspections being finalized, permits being issues, and complaints being handled and turned into cases, it has created a massive amount of data.
